About Ingredients
An open catalog of the things people cook with: what is in them, what they weigh, and what they are called in five languages.
What is in it
2,194 ingredients in 8,262 forms, each with nutrient values per 100 g and the weight of a household measure — a cup of chopped onion, a medium egg, a tablespoon of flour.
Forms, not duplicates
Fresh onion, dried onion flakes and cooked onion are one ingredient with three forms, each carrying its own numbers. A recipe can ask for any of them, and a shopping list still knows which ones you actually buy.
Built to be used elsewhere
Everything on these pages is also a public API — no key, no sign-up. It is the data layer behind a recipe planner, a shopping list and a stock list, and anybody else is welcome to it.

What it is not, yet
The catalog has been imported but not checked by a person. Ingredient names exist in English so far, and allergen information has not been reviewed. The pages say so rather than pretending otherwise.
